My client who are a global UK Broadcaster and telecommunications provider are looking for a Software Engineer on a 6 months rolling contract.
For the role, we are looking for you to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
* Full stack engineer with extensive experience in Java (Spring boot)
* Active and recent experience with development in React and Groovy
* Proven experience with SQL Databases (eg Oracle), ESBs (eg Mule) and Document Stores (eg Couchbase)
* Have ideally worked with automated continuous delivery and deployment (eg Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes etc), and automated testing (JUnit, Spring and Cucumber)
* Have knowledge and experience of a wide range of best of breed open source and commercial technologies
* Experience of software development for resilient, high availability and performant web-based services/systems, including configurable restful Microservices
* Have worked as part of the team to support and maintain the live product, in and out of hours
* Have delivery experience within an agile project specific experience in TDD, Pair Programming
* Have a track record of getting the job done to a high standard
* Be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm and aptitude for helping others learn new skills and practices
Essential
* A passion for Agile methodologies and concepts such Lean, and Kanban as well as XP practices including pair programming, TDD and BDD
* Proven delivery experience of high volume, high availability, large-scale Back End system
* High level experience Java, IntelliJ IDEA and Spring boot Framework
* Experience with React Framework
* Experience with Testing tools (JUnit, Cucumber, Gatling) & mock frameworks (mockito) - or equivalent
* Experience RESTful APIs
* Experience in Continuous Integration and Delivery practices
* Experience with Couchbase, MongoDB or other No SQL databases
* Experience with Microservices Architecture
* Some experience of Groovy
Desirable
* Experience of working with HTML 5 based media players
* Interest and experience of dev ops
* Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting tools, eg Logstash, Kibana, Elastic Search, Grafana etc
* Some experience with Shell Scripting - Linux Bash
