Durchfahrende Züge und Fahrzeuge werden per Kameraportal aufgenommen, die Bilder mit Datenbanken abgeglichen und so pro Fahrzeug (Achse, Rad, usw.) dessen Zustand "en passant" verfolgt.
Die Software WIN, die insbesondere die zeitlichen Verläufe zum Thema hat, ist dies aus System- und Abnahmeebene zu testen und die Defects entsprechend zu managen.
Da es verschiedene Stakeholder mit unterschiedlichen Interessen im Projekt gibt (Personenverkehr, Cargo, Infrastruktuarbteilungen), sind auch unterschiedliche Anforderungen und Perspektiven zu berücksichtigen. Vorbereitend zu den Abnahme- und Systemvalidierungstests wurde eine Tool-Evaluierung vorgenommen und Jira, Xray & insbesondere Structure für die gesamte Kette Requirement-Testfallspezifikation-Defect im Projekt eingeführt.
Da die Requirements in Polarion verwaltet werden, wurde eine funktionsfähige Bridge PolarionJira gemeinsam mit der entsprechenden Abteilung aufgesetzt.

Due to the nature of PIES, integration tests have often to be executed
semi-automatically using real subsystem devices to get feedback of the
interplay of the several involved components. In opposite to pure TCMS tests,
PIES+TCMS integration tests live from human evaluation of the feedback.
Therefore, to provide software development department with fastest feedback,
the test focus for PIES+TCMS integration was moved to script-based
semi-automatic testcases.
