Ericsson - Open Multimedia Platform

Project manager of a software development project with three sub-teams and 14 team members. The
project developed a part of an open multimedia platform to be used for the delivery of TV over IP. Based
on Ericsson/SUN Sailfin, JavaEE application server. Iterative development process.

Outsourcing of ICT to Hungary

Creation of a company to deliver system administration services to companies in the Netherlands
remotely from Hungary. Activities included selection of the operations center in Hungary (5 staff),
contracts, processes (ITIL) and sales in the Netherlands.

Allaskozvetites.hu, allasoldal.hu and joble.nl

Co-founder of company with the goal of running job-search websites. Design and implementation of IT
strategy: websites, downstream billing, sales en administrative-systems.

Allaskozvetites.hu became the biggest job advertising website of Hungary. Sold in 2011.

(Amgen is a bio-technological pharmaceutical company with approximately 15.000 employees worldwide.)

Line manager of a department of 7 people, working on the administration of all European business
applications and the systems-integration of these applications. Amongst these applications are logistical
(JDEdwards), DataWarehouse (COGNOS & Informatica) and Systems Integration (TIBCO) applications.

Work included the day-to-day people management of the group, including recruitment, setting goals,
monitoring and performance reviews. Also worked on the implementation of follow-the-sun (16hr/day
support in cooperation with the US Amgen IT department), improved processes (ITIL) and especially
process measurement. BPC (business continuity plan), DRP (Disaster Recovery Plan), Risk Assessment
and Risk Response.

TIBCO Manager
Connect Austria (ONE)

Location: Vienna (Austria)

Program Manager (and final responsible person) for a number of large projects at ONE (Austria's 3rd
Mobile Phone Operator & ISP). Amongst the projects completed are:

* The introduction of TIBCO middleware (EAI) into the IT landscape. Within time and below
budget, the software was successfully introduced. Managed senior management expectations (at
board level), as well as a team of around 10 people and a budget over €2 Million. Project
surpassed expectations and is now being used as a reference site by the supplier.




* Partner portal - the B2B platform of ONE. Website (BroadVision) integrated into the backoffice
systems using TIBCO. Budget: €600,000

* The introduction of a new campaign management tool, to setup campaigns and manage
responses. Budget over €300,000.

* Introduction of TIBCO BusinessConnect as the general B2B server for ONE. Based on SOAP
and Web-Services. Introduction of TIBCO BusinessWorks.

Was also one participant in exploring ideas for a new corporate business strategy.

Consultant

Amongst the assignments completed are:

Swisscom Mobile: Strategic IT Infrastructure

Project manager of the 'Future Billing Architecture project'. A strategic project with the Board of
Directors as the project Steering Board (including the CEO). At the start of the project, the billing system
was handling most IT functions, including customer relationships, asset management, order management,
provisioning and billing. The purpose of the project was to establish a Roadmap for evolution to a modern
(EAI based) IT infrastructure, that would also cater for Value Added Services and would take into
account Vodafone Group requirements. The Board members were first interviewed to establish the
business strategy, after which the high-level requirements were established. The Architecture Vision was
then developed from that and finally the Evolution Roadmap was drawn up.

After this, managed the vendor evaluation project for the selection of the new corporate billing system in
accordance with the IT strategy drawn up.

Amongst systems evaluated: BSCS, Portal Infranet, AmDocs, Geneva, TIBCO, webMethods, B4E.

Business strategy & IT integrator selection

Worked for a 3G operator in the UK (Hutchison 3G), to co-manage the selection of their main systems
integrator to deliver their Administration, Billing and Customer Care systems, in line with the business
philosophy. The work included partaking in describing the business philosophy, establishing the
integrator selection process/plan, establishing the first list of 14 bidders, writing the RFI, establishing the
evaluation process and criteria, co-managing the writing of the RFQ, evaluating the proposed solutions,
managing final evaluation and selection and setting up initial contract negotiations with the winner. All
bids included an EAI (mostly TIBCO) based middleware.

Company start-up: IT systems

Working for Nortel Networks as program manager to implement for a Nortel customer: a complete and
new company headquarters including all support systems (mainly Onyx (CRM) and Portal (real-time
Internet services billing)). The Nortel customer was planning to offer a variety of Internet and
transmission services. Project was cancelled before finishing because of delays in obtaining funding by
the Nortel customer.

Customer Care & Billing systems (data analysis)

Senior manager at Cable & Wireless Communications of the data management department. This work
included setting up and line-managing a department of 20 people to work on a variety of IT projects in
C&W, including large Customer Relationship Management projects (Siebel), order management and
billing systems (incl. ICMS and Arbor/BP/Kenan).

Mobile electronic commerce (Value Added Services)

Senior project manager on several major projects at Cellnet (now O2 ) in the area of mobile electronic
commerce. The largest of the projects had four supplier- and one partner company (Barclays), with over
thirty people working on project implementation.

Telecommunications Management Consultant
PA Consulting Group

Location: Based in London (UK)

Work as a management consultant in the telecommunications section of PA Consulting, specialising in
project management. This role required frequent travel and work at customer sites.

Among the assignments completed are:

Invitation to Tender

Wrote the general sections and determined the contents of an Invitation To Tender for a telco upstart
(InfoStrada) in Italy. The ITT contained an invitation to bid for the construction of a national public
network, including a data-network, a voice network, IN services and a new transmission network. Also
worked on project effort estimates for the team to write the ITT.

Data-migration management

Led a team of four data network people to migrate existing data into the newly delivered system.

Network modelling database business implementation

Managed a team of ten people for Cable & Wireless that was responsible for the implementation,
delivery, acceptance testing, training of users and introduction of a database system into the public
network operator's data customer service call-centre.

GSM billing system analysis

Analysed and suggested improvements to a GSM billing system in Oslo for Telenor Mobil (largest
Norwegian mobile operator). Particular areas: roaming agreements and settlements with other carriers,
Ericsson AXE to billing system inter-working.

Business Analysis

Interface between the business (a customer service call-centre) and IT departments. Analysed a public
data communications network and network evolution strategy as well as customer service processes, in
order to produce business requirements for a data network modelling system. This software system
modelled public data services such as managed router services.

Contract writing and negotiating

Wrote and negotiated the details of a legal contract for a bespoke software development project. At the
start of this assignment, an overall agreement between the customer and supplier was reached, but only
verbally. The software development project was to implement a database for an insurance company and
was estimated to cost approximately £1 million.

Data network cost benchmarking

Designed a global TCP/IP and frame-relay network of 150 nodes on behalf of Origin (Netherlands).
Together with a financial expert from PA Consulting, the implementation and running cost of this
network were estimated and presented to the customer (a major multinational).

SDH implementation project management

Worked for a large telecommunications operator in France (Paris): Cegetel. Organised the construction
and leading the testing of half of the Paris part of a new French national fibre optic network (SDH
backbone). The team also delivered the first set-up of the Network Management Centre for the entire
national network.




This assignment included negotiations with suppliers, supplier management and managing of system
acceptance.

Software Architect
Nortel

One of the two software architects responsible for the overall system architecture of a large objectoriented
telecommunications software system (the trunking part of the DMS 100/g), on which more than
150 designers were working. This position included, among others, requirements analysis, architecture
level design of the system, consulting within the organisation, teaching courses to new designers and
influencing the software design process. Telecommunications areas: public switching protocols,
Intelligent Networks, CCS7, CAS, C1, billing, trunk maintenance, service provisioning, and public
networking.

Senior software designer
Bell Northern Research

Designing object-oriented software for communication protocols between public telephone switches.
Functioning as the main technical person in the team, responsible for the overall design of the protocol
under development. Two protocols were developed: ANSI ISUP and CTUP. A major part of this role
involved prototyping using SmallTalk. Another major part involved software design processes and
helping introduce a new iterative development process within the organisation. HP-UX environment.
Programmed in a BNR proprietary programming language (Protel II).

Designing, implementing and testing object-oriented software as part of a team of designers.
Participated in several teams, designing and implementing basic-call processing software, going through
the software life cycle several times. Also worked with SmallTalk (mainly for Prototyping). Programming

Developed software for public switching in the Australian Market. The software is now an active part of
public telephone switches in Australia, servicing approximately 5 million people. Interfaced with
customers and followed many courses. Worked in a UNIX environment on HP computers. Programming
in Pascal and a Pascal-like programming language. Telecommunications areas: lines, trunks, AISUP,
ATUP, ISUP, CallP, R2.
