A very good client of ours are looking for System Acceptance Tester for a new Annuities development within a Life and Pensions application.
You will have Full involvement in all aspects of system acceptance test (SAT), from test planning and preparation through to execution and final acceptance. The project's primary location is Heidelberg, Germany however there is also the opportunity for remote options.
Main tasks include, but are not confined to:
- Building good working relationships with on- and off-shore business and technical analysts and developers to ensure SAT planning and execution is 100% aligned to approved functional and associated specifications.
- As above in respect of participating in the delivery of SAT-dependent IT activities, such as test environment planning and provisioning, test batch run schedules, test case identification and associated test scripts.
- As a SAT team member, run queries, execute test scripts, pass tests or raise defects and follow-through fixes with technical SMEs and developers to enable single or minimal retests.
- Active participation in other SAT stages, including test readiness reviews, daily in-progress checkpoint and defect management meetings and telecalls, test completion reviews and post-SAT, liaising with and supporting the business UAT team where necessary.
- During SAT execution, prepare and deliver daily update reports and MI.
Essential skill profile:
- At least five years recent experience within the Financial Services sector and a good knowledge of the regulatory governances around which Financial Services companies must operate.
- At least seven years continuous test experience, of which the most recent five years were in mid- to large-scale system or functional test roles.
- Solid experience of Cobol systems and their associated test protocols and demands, and ideally working knowledge of Life Assurance/Pension/Annuities applications or very similar insurance applications.
- Experience of working in system test teams where testers are based at different locations ie Germany, UK and Far East.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated regularly within complex test and other project situations.
- Thorough understanding of, and dependencies between, all test stages from unit and link through functional and business acceptance, to regression and non-functional testing.
- Good experience of different development methods, such as Waterfall and RAD, and a full understanding of their associated practices, governance standards and protocols.
- Fluent English with excellent communications, and where necessary, persuasive, skills within telephone, face-to-face and written situations at all business and technical levels.
- Flexible approach to location, travel and task assignments.
