Für ein Projekt bei unserem Kunden suchen wir eine/n
Senior Overall Project Manager (f/m)
Project Overview
We are loking for a very experienced Senior Project Manager to take over the role of an Overall Project Manager (OPM) for a release project.
Starting as the deputy of the OPM for a current release, the roll out of a new system to the market (team size 130, budget about 20 Mio), the Project Manager will take full responsibility for the management of the upcoming release of the system.
The OPM of the release project is being supported by an ITPM with the respective test and delivery IT organization. One of the major responsibilities of the OPM will be the transition of the system into the company’s organizational environment.
Project Description and Context
The new system is based upon a new technology platform and will be an integral part of our customer's new system landscape by replacing the existing systems in a step-wise approach. The new system, is structured and build of modules to enable efficient integration of internal and external services, i.e. shorter time to market in extending products, market reach, participants and service offerings.
Implementing the new system for our customer's services has dependencies to all other major initiatives, which requires an active management prior to and during the implementation phase.
The development of the new system is being done in a multi-release approach, with distributed development teams in Germany, Czech Republic and India. The current release is scheduled to launch in November 2015. The upcoming releases are tentatively planned for Q2 and Q4/2016 and need preparation in parallel to the current release.
Timeline
The following timeline will apply for the project:
Project start date: asap
End date: 31.12.2015 for the current release, currently planned extension until end of 2016 for the upcoming releases
Location
The project manager is expected to be based in Frankfurt a. M. Regular travelling to Prague will be required because the development team is partly located in Prague.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Overall Project Manager is fully responsible for the management of the entire project including the IT delivery of the project (run by a dedicated IT project management team reporting to the OPM) internal and external readiness, as well as transition into production. In particular this includes:
Closely managing the delivery scope of the IT projects across the whole project lifecycle from initiation, design, delivery and test to post implementation, adhering to known project methodologies and best practices
Effective management of the key technology, business, and market risks associated with this project
Overall responsibility for budget management of the project release
Stakeholder management involving top executive level
Management of activities to achieve organizational readiness
Reporting to C-Level Steering Committee, the customer's Board and the CIO
Definition of the migration approach, rollout planning and rollout contingency measures will be defined together with our customer and the major stakeholders on the member side
Transition Management in a context of various internal and external stakeholders both on business and IT side
Management of the complex sourcing mix and technology landscape towards a stable solution rollout
Close collaboration with the community of our customer's membership and participants (in total 400+ financial institutions) and independent software vendors regarding the readiness requirements and status
In addition, he/she is expected to provide expertise to project managers as well as to senior leadership in deciding whether the project/program is able to meet the desired outcomes within the current scope
The Senior Program Manager is also responsible for the development, mentoring and coaching of fellow project managers and project/program team members
For the current release to be launched in November 2015, the candidate will start as deputy for an established in-house Overall Project Manager, and also act as senior PMO, to allow for the required ramp-up time/learning-curve in such a mission-critical project.
Throughout the year 2015 the candidate will assume full responsibility for two already (high level) planned releases in 2016 and will take over respective responsibility from the current in-house OPM.
For the avoidance of doubt, the required skill-set as outlined above is that of a very experienced Overall project Manager, not that of a Senior PMO.
