Infrastructure Architect - SDDC Consolidation/Migration to Cloud Progamme - (UK Home based/Hanover-Germany)

£450-525 a day + Expenses (flights/accommodation/travel) 4 months initially+

Working for a Tier 1 Global Systems Integrator you will engage on a major programme of SDDC cloud data centre transformation and consolidation as a globally leading consumer services organisation sets out to undertake a global data centre consolidation phase 1 programme to move 2 European data centres to a single SDDC cloud platform.

Experienced in Infrastructure Architecture ideally in a consolidated data centre environment, SDDC or recent Data Centre to Cloud platform move. This 4month piece is phase 1, and encompasses less than 10% of their global data centres currently in line for consolidation so options may exits to go beyond this.

Working with Programme teams and various other architects including separate headcount also involved for Networking, Application, Integration and Service architecture you will be an experienced Infrastructure Architect

The chosen individual will have experience in Compute, Storage, Backup, Monitoring and Hypervisor space with key competencies in Hyper-convergence within an environment where automation and orchestration is paramount. The key tasks will be in Infrastructure assessment, rapid product selection and utilising design principals to create high level designs and solution blueprints of chosen technology in accordance with minimal critical requirements for phase 1 pilot. There will be some degree of existing platform and infrastructure assessment to confirm readiness for pilot.

Skills:
Technical Infrastructure experience (in technologies highlighted above) in a large diverse estate with a pragmatic approach to decision making.

This is a client-side engagement role, so the individual will need customer facing communication skills, with the ability to proactively engage stakeholders to understand requirements and constraints and build consensus for the solution. In addition, you will need to be able to challenge customer ideas in a professional and constructive manner, to help ensure the best outcome for the customer project.

This role is starting mid January (15th to be exact) for 4 months, and will be based in 3 days in Hanover in Germany and will require you to be there Tue/Wed/Thurs each week with home based working Monday and Fridays (expenses provided for hotel/flights etc). Individuals will also be required to perform this initial 4 month phase 1 piece of work but ideally be flexible for what could be further extensions for the rest of the SDDC consolidation programme to cloud phases move forward.
