System Support Engineer Position - contract - English language speaking business working environment
Requirements for the position:
- already have experience with administering and configuring network connectivity on both Linux and Windows systems.
- be able to validate the performance of a network connection, to troubleshoot it and if required, adjust the configuration of the operating systems and/or applications to improve the performance and resiliency of the network throughput.
- have knowledge of how C++, Java and Web based applications work and how they communicate with other applications/systems.
- have experience in Scripting tools and procedures in different Linux shells.
- excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- fluency in English essential, both written and spoken.
- probably Computer science Degree qualified or equivalent.
Objective:
To provide support for a technical migration project within our Client's Linux & Windows environment. The project is designed to ensure that our Client's systems are highly resilient to any network failures or disturbances.
The project has just started and it will run for 6 to 9 months. The requirement will be for someone to join the application management team and together with the engineering teams to work the different migration steps, both in the test and production environments.
The System Support Engineer will need to actively communicate and collaborate with the project manager, the network engineering team, the Linux and Windows system administrators as well as the scheduling and operation teams. All activities will be performed strictly following the Client's Change Management process and internal procedures.
