Storage Administrator - Contract - English language speaking business/work environment
Required skills/experience:
- 3+ years storage management experience, system administration or equivalent;
- Good knowledge of Storage Management disciplines and principles;
- Good knowledge of SAN infrastructure, operating system platforms, related storage products and tools;
- Ideally experience with Symantec's Command Central Storage product and/or VOM 6.0;
- Significant analytical and troubleshooting competence;
- Fluent English language skills, written and spoken.
Responsibilities overview:
- Act as focal point for all storage related tasks/issues/requests specifically daily activities in this area;
- Support of the storage requirements and provisioning process;
- Regular monitoring of storage utilization/space usage;
- Participate in an effective and efficient Storage Requirements and Provisioning Process;
- Ensure efficient space management for the whole installed storage environment;
- Coordination of implementation of any storage infrastructure components;
- Participate in escalations for all storage related incidents and problems;
- Act as an interface to other groups (mainly System Planning, Service Delivery, DBA, Operations and System Administration).
The environment:
The local storage environment encompasses admin for storage arrays from several different vendors, specifically:
- EMC (DMX and VMAX devices);
- Netapp (Metroclusters);
- IBM (XIV arrays) and HP (3Par);
- SAN administration for Brocade Switches completes the environment for the SAN.
