My client is currently looking to add to their Integration Engineering department, a Specialist (m/f) Communication focus AFC for Railway Turnkey Projects at the earliest opportunity.
You will be responsible for the acquisition and execution of turnkey projects (complete turnkey solutions), complete with rolling stock, signalling technology and electrification. As part of the design, optimization and implementation of these complete solutions MTS provides project management and integration engineering of the overall system.
The Integration Engineering department carries out system analysis, planning and optimization of railway transportation systems as part of bid and execution projects and its responsibilities therefore include planning, system design and realization of automatic fare collection.
As a member of an international team of specialists, you will support the bid and project execution teams and report directly to the head of the Integration Engineering System Engineering.
What are my responsibilities?
*Autonomous technical planning and system design of fare management (automatic fare collection, AFC) for railway transportation systems
*Analyzing and technical assessment of request for tenders with regard to overall system sub-systems and products (such as Back Office, server systems, money management, TVMs, gates), taking into account the mandatory regulations and standards
*Drafting of technically binding tenders, system descriptions and planning documents, including obtaining and evaluating tenders from subcontractors
*Project-specific interface, configuration and document management
What do I need to qualify for this job?
*University degree, preferably in communication technology, rail engineering or electrical engineering
*Several years' professional experience in the systems business, ideally in railway transportation systems with the focus on fare management
*Specialist knowledge of all widely used AFC subsystems and their interfaces in complete train solutions (such as Back Office, server systems, money management, TMVs, gates)
*Experience of cost and resource management in the management of bids and projects
*Knowledge of bid and interface management, as well as analysing requests for tenders and contracts
*Project experience in the context of international customer or development projects desirable
*Technical team leadership desirable
*Fluent English essential, good knowledge of German and other foreign languages such as French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic an advantage
*Due to the international orientation of the projects, mobility and willingness to travel is essential. This may also require long-term delegations.

*Excellent communication abilities combined with strong interpersonal skills
*High level of customer and quality orientation together with strong abilities in consulting and implementation
