An IT Support Technician is needed for our client, a prestigious international Telecommunications company in Germany to be responsible for Northern (Hannover area) Germany for a long term project. Start ASAP. Applicants shall speak fluent German and English, and eligible to work in Germany.

This is an interesting, challenging and varied role for an IT all-rounder, as you will be single point of contact and local technical administrator for two satellite offices within the larger national organization.

The majority of the day to day activities will involve helpdesk and on-demand technical support of the hardware, desktops and laptops, along with operating system and application problem resolution, updates and software installation. This will be mostly face-to-face, with some telephone and remote support, so strong client/user focused skills are essential. Support of the associated site hardware such as network, printers and telephony will be required, but escalation routes to specialists are in place as required. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to the overall team effort, including expanding the knowledge base, supporting other local admins/IT colleagues, and improving the quality of the service provided to the users.

Although core activities will be based in Hannover, you will also be responsible for another site in Hamburg, so personal transport is a requirement.

Responsibilities and tasks:

- Identify and initiate resolutions to IT related user problems, requests, and concerns

associated with hardware, software, and other IT resources

- Ensure escalation of all non-routine issues to appropriate personnel

- Assist with the planning and implementing of user hardware and software

- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies

- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction is achieved and required service level agreements are met

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years' experience in technical support functions.

Microsoft Certification highly desirable.

Network or Telephony qualifications a bonus, but not essential.

Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills of Microsoft Windows 7, Office and other business hardware and software systems.

Self-managed and able to work unsupervised, with attention to detail.

Quick learner, smart thinking and can-do' attitude.

Effective interpersonal skills.

Able to effectively communicate in English and German, both written and oral. (Essential);

Driving license with own transport.
