Experienced Web Designer/Developer - English language speaking business working environment
Required qualifications/skills/experience:
- Excellent knowledge of standard web and Application Server products, such as Apache, JBOSS, Glassfish, WebLogic, Frameworks (eg Pyramid) MySQL, SQLIte;
- Ability to program and troubleshoot in Python, JavaScript, Java, and/other web Scripting languages;
- In-depth knowledge of Linux;
- Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle - requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and support;
- Excellent English language skills, written and spoken;
- Demonstrably strong soft skills, ie good communication skills, team player, etc.
Major responsibilities:
- Analyse/review existing web reporting infrastructure/design, delivery architecture/mechanisms;
- Review client home-grown web-publishing interface, screen design/layout for efficiency, ease of use, reliability, responsiveness;
- Investigate use of graph database for tree visualisation;
- Define user requirements for development of new or improvement of existing software solutions;
- Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies;
- Produce new design for home-grown web-publishing interface, including Standard report, navigation mechanism, automatic graph creation, web query mechanism;
- Design automatic feed/display for new reports from WPS (ie SAS);
- Model, design and implement databases as necessary;
- Conduct unit, package and performance tests of the software and ensure a level of quality in line with the Client guidelines;
- Support the end user in the Production phase by debugging existing software solutions in response to Problem Tracking Records (PTR) and Change Requests (CR) issued from users of the services.
