Task:The Safety Area Manager resides in an Fulfillment Center (FC) and is responsible for all safety functions at their respective FC.
?Ensure compliance to German law as it applies to Life Safety in a Fulfillment Center environment
?Ensure compliance to safety programs such as Lockout-Tagout, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation and other such programs
?Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of managers and associates in regards to critical safety issues
?Develop and maintain ergonomics programs where needed
?Maintain required paperwork to comply with German law
?Analyze accident data and build prevention programs to impact accident trends
?Build management and employee commitment for a safety program through influence not authority
?Create a Culture of Safety in the FC
?Analyze new process, machinery for potential safety concerns
?Review Standard Operating Procedure changes and make safety recommendations
?Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis
?Interact with Workers Compensation third-party administrators in carrying out claims management
?Develop a positive working relationship with local Fire Department and other local authorities as needed
?Manage consistent and disciplined incident investigation and reporting
?Weekly metrics reporting to management teams
?Applying Lean tools to Safety: error-proof processes, analyze safety trends and create proactive plans to address key risks, use Pareto analysis and other tools to monitor and drive high-effectiveness Safety programs
Requirements (Must have):
?University degree (preferably in a business or safety related area) or equivalent work experience (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit)
?Trained specialist for industrial safety as per § 6 ASiG resp. BGV A6
?Initial work experience in safety
?Experience in managing and developing a team is a bonus
?Strong communication skills, leadership, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus
?Fluent in English and German
