IS Strategy Paper Development
Provide IS Consulting to support the development of the General IS Strategy and the Digital Strategy paper.
The process of strategy development includes the following tasks:
- Create business and IS baseline
- Create industry & technology dynamics and trends
- Analyze strategic Input
- Build strategic objectives
- Identify and assess opportunities
- Develop and evaluate Options
- Define and align recommendation
- Define target capabilities and requirements
- Define strategic guidelines and initiatives
- Compile high-level benefit case
- Identify dependencies and build strategy Roadmap
- Compile strategy documents

The General IS Strategy focuses on the overall IS landscape of the customer, setting the broad strategic direction for topics like IS strategy objectives and governance, core competencies, service strategy, solution strategy and sourcing strategy. The Digital Strategy will build on the General IS Strategy and address the facilitation of new business opportunities (Digitalization) and the increase in efficiency of existing business operations & processes (Digitization). - Excellent ability for strategic thinking including a holistic and long-term view on strategic context.
- Excellent understanding of IT/ relevant industry trends.
- Excellent knowledge of chemical business including business models, challenges, strategies.
- Knowledge of IS operating models and IS service portfolios.
- Competitive IT industry insights including an understanding of customers position.
- English - excellent communication skills including the ability to write complex documents
- Knowledge of BASF, esp. the GS organization, the GS operating model and the IS Strategy
methodology will accelerate the introduction phase and is therefore regarded as an important advantage
- Experienced in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Word
- Experienced in business and process design
- Expert in IT strategy/architecture
