For following duties we are searching for a Consultant Software Distribution/Client Management (m/f):The Customer is planning to rollout about 2000 installations of so called dealer modules at 2000 car dealers across the world. A module consists of an HP workstation running Windows 7 and CentOS (inside virtual box) together with several software modules and content packages.
To allow management and distribution of the operating system and the applications including content, the customer needs a solution that allows management of this remote locations over sometimes limited internet connections, in a mixed environment. Current solutions under investigation are Radia, SCCM or Puppet/Chef. Any other client management tool welcome.
Required Experience/Knowledge:
- Consultant with experience in software distribution/client management
- As the environment is quite distributed from the network point of view, we consider this more a client management (e.g. like homeoffice/mobile users) than a datacenter environment Therefore experiences with client tools like Radia or similar would be expected
- Experience with managing heterogenous environments (Windows/Linux) would be good, but is not considered a must have
social factors (must)
- Structured approach during troubleshooting
- Communicative function
- Inured to stress
- Readiness to adjustment to a complex field
