Cloud System Designer
Connect44 is looking for Cloud System designer
Cloud System Development Center at Ericsson Eurolab Aachen develops parts of the Ericsson Cloud System (ECS), namely storage, equipment management and hypervisor solutions. The aim of the Ericsson Cloud System program is to support operators in becoming public cloud service providers as well as to transform parts of our existing portfolio from an "on-premise HW/SW delivery" model to be delivered as a Service or for deployment on a cloud infrastructure.
In order to provide interaction with and demos to our customers, we created a Proof of Concept lab and demo center. This is connected to our peer demo center in Montreal, Canada.
Your role will encompass activities to:
- Work with the design teams of the Ericsson Cloud System
- Spread competence
- Maintain and develop further the existing POC infrastructure (based on Ericsson's and 3rd parties hard- and software)
- Cloud computing and virtualization solution design
- Define customer related use cases for network transformation involving Cloud technologies
- Integrate and verify solutions into the PoC Lab
- Execute customer events and meetings (presentations and demos) to show the Ericson Cloud story
- Technical development of new PoCs to become available for customer engagements
- Business development related to your tasks
- Support the Cloud PoC labs around the globe
- Build up a system expert contact network
As a suitable candidate, you have a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. You have a strong interest in the cloud computing area and very good cloud and virtualization experience. You have experience with VMWare, KVM and Xen. A functional background in Networking Technologies (Switching/Routing - IP, VLAN, OSPF) is an asset as well. You have very good communication skills and work well in a changing environment.
You are a very positive driver of change with a strong innovation and solution oriented mindset. Your English is fluent and you are open-minded and flexible. The ability to travel and present at customer sites (outside the lab environments) from time to time is also desired.
