Senior Software Engineer (m/w)
Main purpose of the role :
This position provides a challenging opportunity to develop software for the Corporate & Markets business.
The candidate must be able to work in a highly dynamic environment with demanding clients. The successful candidate is responsible for designing and developing ETL solutions using Oracle Data
Integrator (ODI) for interfacing beween the source application and the Data Warehouse.
As a developer within the Corporate Markets IT team, responsibilities include:
- Delivery of new functionality as well as support of existing systems using industry best practises to deliver business value.
- Performing assessment in existing ETL packages, mapping and workflows in production and modifiying existing ODI code to provide bug fixes for existing ETLs
- Discussion of requirements, design and testing issues with the business users.
- Working across all aspects of the application suite to provide a balanced view of the applications and the business they serve.
- Working with other members of the team bringing previous experiences of technology to the team.
- Liaising with support teams to assist in diagnosing and resolving production issues.
Required Skill and Experience Essential
- At least 2 years experience working with an ETL tool (Oracle Data Integrator 10.x)
- Completed full lifecycle Data Warehousing / BI implementations with focus on ETL development”.
- Relational database (Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ)
- Is willing to accept change, is both pragmatic and a self starter.
- Excellent communication skills both within IT and with business
- Takes an active interest in their role and the wider use of what they produce, above and beyond expectation.
Desirable
- Exposure to a formal development methodology (preferably agile – an iterative approach to development).
- SAP BO XI 3.1
- Development with Business Objects tools
- Universe Design
- Data Modelling Experience
- Experience in a Front Office investment banking role.
