My client is looking for a strong PMO who has experience in consultancy's or a strong background working for financial firms.

The ideal PMO should have experience in

Description: Responsible for the overall direction of a Program Management Office (PMO) providing services to the organization's portfolio of projects such as planning, scheduling, estimating, costing, risk assessment, and consistency of process across projects.

Focus and Experience
Discipline and diplomacy
Manages multiple Projects, with lots of ambiguity and no clear definition
Excellent Organisation skills
Excellent Communication skills
Quality Reporting can track and monitor Program planning
Maintain PMO document repository
People Management
Financial Management
Procurement
8+ years of project Governance and management experience

PMO managers at this level have managed a large Portfolio of projects (at least 6), taking responsibility through all stages of the project life cycle.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Establish Quality Program Governance and PMO guidance
Establish standards in Project Management
Controls central Project Management document repository
Ensures that all Project Managers adhere to Program governance requirements
Understands Risks/issues
Effective communicator
Provide Support to Program/Project Managers
Track Milestones and maintain Project Plans
Maintain and Track Finances
Maintains & tracks resource requirements
Stake Holder Management
Marshall appropriate resources, recruit supporters and strategically manage the stakeholders
Guide and advise on the effective governance structures and challenge as necessary
Wider dependencies across portfolios and releases
Ensure process consistency across projects
Ensure communication with peer LoBs and groups

Stakeholder Engagement

Identifying ownership within the business
Lobbies for and gathers appropriate resources
Recruit supporters and strategically manages the stakeholders
Follow through on ownership (ensures commitment is kept and addresses issues)
Produces high level operational & dynamic impact assessment to help identify stakeholders, flexing to the changing environment
Identify Stakeholder Groups - internal/external, direct/indirect, impacted/influencer
Identify one key contact from each Stakeholder group
Sell change to the Stakeholders at Programme level via meetings/discussions/presentations
Invite appropriate Stakeholders to be members of the Steering Group
Influencing skills (senior management team)
Understanding organisational power structures and lobbying for political support
Managing and influencing senior (director level) stakeholders
Formal and informal negotiation
