On behalf of a leading global technology provider we are searching for a Data Center SI Project Manager for a one year project based in Wiesbaden, Germany. The start date is scheduled for June 16th 2014.***Candidates must be eligible to work as a contractor / freelancer in Germany***
Responsibilities
- Manage vendor relationships with service providers and technology manufacturers.
- Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts.
- Ensure equipment and software operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
- Implement and coordinate the creation of technical service procedures, policies, and manuals.
- Participate as a PM of the IT Infrastructure & Operations Project Team in creating and maintaining the governance processes of the data center infrastructure architecture, data centers, telecommunications, networks, communications systems and client engineering.
- Act as final escalation point for the technical issues pursued within the data center / delivery project team.
- Oversee and coordinate the planning, design, and architecture of the data center migration/consolidation inclusive of server and storage infrastructure, Tools, network and security architecture and infrastructure, business continuance and service restoration strategies.
- Coordinate the migration and consolidation activities of the Data Center System integration (SI) project team, inclusive of oversight for the related IT project portfolio as well as on-going incident response management for supported systems.
Qualifications
- Background in Computer Science or Engineering or relevant experience
- Should have 10+ years of in-depth working knowledge of DC system integration projects.
- IT work experience should encompass developing and implementing technology solutions, data center consolidation and multi-vendor and multi-geo migrations.
- Co-location vendor management,
- PMP and ITIL certifications highly preferred
- Ability to lead cross functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature.
