Hallo zusammen,wir suchen einen WAN Network Design Engineer (m/w).
Start: asap until Feb 2015 approx.
Ort: Essen von Dienstag bis Donnerstag; Montag und Freitag entweder Düsseldorf oder Remote (Possible travel also to France and Spain, but only for short trips – if at all)
Role purpose:
To provide bespoke, detailed customer designs and technical ownership to the businesses high profile accounts through the utilisation of specialist technical expertise. To add value, in terms of technical skills, to the various accounts through the issuing of detailed network solutions as well as technical leadership and implementation support.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Engage with key customer and internal stakeholders to produce detailed design documentation and support those designs through to completion
• Act as a subject matter expert, supporting all parties throughout the project lifecycle, providing technical leadership to drive the solution from concept to implementation
• Build strong relationships with our customers as well as colleagues – understand who stakeholders are and how solutions are delivered
• Produce detailed technical documentation to support engineers in change implementation – this will also involve proof of concept testing
• When required provide 4th line support in areas for which you are responsible
• Work with team to ensure that knowledge and expertise are shared – continual improvement
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
• Experience of designing LAN & WAN solutions, preferably gained in a large enterprise environment (in-house or customer/ISP)
• Experience of dealing face to face with customers in a high level technical role (i.e. Consultant, Designer, Senior Engineer), including delivering presentations
• Excellent written & verbal skills
• Practical experience of Cisco hardware essential
• A sounds understanding of best practice in terms of design methodology and enterprise networking in both WAN & LAN environment
• Willingness to engage with team and learn/teach
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• CCNA/CCDA
• (CCNP/CCDP of benefit but not essential)
• Knowledge of PRINCE2 (or similar)
In addition to the skills in the attached spec, the resource must have Alcatel-Lucent Scalable IP Networks (SRC) knowledge, 7750 SR-Service Router, ESS-Ethernet Service Switch 7450
