Based in Dusseldorf, my client is looking for an English speaking (fluent) Application Manager with Oracle WebCentreSites (WCS, formerly Fatwire) knowledge, ), for the implementation of a WebPortal Front End including Content Management System based on WCS.
Daily rate - 450 EURO
Tasks:
- Being responsible for deployments (also taking place during the night)
- Being responsible for incident troubleshooting and ticket handling
- Being responsible for proper operation in terms of configuration, changes, implementation, roll out and preparation for all operated services and tools
- Actively contributing to process and tool improvements by providing requirements for support tools, and with the use of tools
- Conducting stability, performance and load testing
- Being responsible for 24x7 service availability by means of on call duty
- Being responsible for root cause analysis and sustainable solution generation
- Being responsible for Application Monitoring
- Acting as second Level Support, solving and dispatching application production issues
Skills:
- Expertise in software integration, deployment in a Unix environment
- Good knowledge of Oracle WebCentreSites (WCS), Weblogic and Java applications
- Strong IT/Application Operating background and experience in managing complex technology, if possible with university degree in Information Technology
- > 3 years of experience in IT service provisioning (preference in the telecommunication industry)
- Broad experience and knowledge of mobile Internet communication, protocols, infrastructure, applications, services and integrations
- Deep Unix/Solaris/Microsoft knowledge, including Scripting languages
- Expertise in Apache configuration and rewrite rules
- Good understanding of network protocols and associated tools
- Proven database knowledge
- Fluency in English language both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly
Tools being used are Bash-Shell, Perl, Python, WLST, HP-OVO for monitoring implementation, Rundeck for automating deployment and operational tasks, Splunk we are currently integrating for several services and the ticketing tool is Remedy 7.6.
Generally a good understanding of Web Applications (based on browser consuming server generated HTML) is expected, AJAX understanding is a plus; Further standard skills/experience we are looking for is implementing high-availability with Apache pools and WebLogic clusters (using DBs on Oracle-RAC) with all the pitfalls/issues and troubleshooting that such set-ups can bring.
Candidates should also be able to describe and verbalise operational requirements towards solution suppliers and imply relevant standards during project implementation (eg meaningful package structure for SW delivery).
