For an International organisation with location in Munich and The Hague we are looking for several Windows Application Support personnel. The client operates a heterogeneous system architecture largely centred on Mainframe technologies but moving towards a Windows and Linux environment. The requirement is to support, within an ITIL framework, a diverse application catalogue with a mix of customised COTS and in-house developed applications. Tasks include 2nd level incident resolution, processing change requests, compiling a knowledge base for 1st level support and continuous improvement, ad hoc system/application administration tasks eg adding/removing users, modifying access levels, application health checks and monitoring application performance. All work will be done in a KPI/SLA mediated delivery mode.
The client supports approximately 8000 workstations and 2000 laptops, currently running Windows XP Professional v2002 SP3. These workstations will be migrated to Windows 7 by the end of Q3 of 2014. In addition the client currently runs approximately 600 Windows Servers, of which around 80% are virtual machines, the rest being physical machines. The Windows client environment currently has approximately 120 commercial applications plus some 40 Windows Server based software packages each with differing degrees of configuration and customisation.
We require good experience in Windows application support in an ITIL environment and working to KPI/SLAs.
Experience (and certification) in supporting several of the following under Windows is necessary:
