Bluefish Communications, an IT consultancy and professional services company, requires a highly skilled WAN Network Design Engineer with Alcatel-Lucent product knowledge to join our team on an interim basis
We require a highly qualified professional with demonstrated Alcatel-Lucent expertise and design knowledge to effectively generate designs that consider benefits and overall impact to organisation and customers. Our WAN Design Engineer will have effective presentation, negotiation and discussion skills to both technical and non-technical personnel to facilitate understanding and decision making. Our WAN Design Engineer will participate as a technology expert during the tender process to develop engineering effort estimates and scope of works
Responsibilities:
The WAN Design Engineer's general areas of responsibilities will also include, but not be limited to, the following activities on the Alcatel-Lucent IP products (eg 7x50, SAM):
- Network design testing, validation and documentation
- Assist with Proof-of-Concept testing of new solutions
- Provide on-site consulting and knowledge transfer related to ALU IP Products
- Provide advice/guidance both on current and future capabilities.
- Assist in documentation of engineering guides and network designs.
- Draft or assist in writing network design technical changes, upgrade methods of procedure (MOP) and SAD as needed
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
- In-depth technical expertise in a variety of Alcatel-Lucent and Cisco environments.
- IPSec
- Alcatel Multi service Platform
- Demonstrate an understanding of current developments and changes in IT service delivery and customer service techniques.
- Dynamic routing, acceleration and load balancer solution knowledge.
- Skilled in TCP/IP and common networking protocols.
Individuals must be prepared to go through a background screening process prior to deployment to site.
Note customer site and remote working is possible. However, candidates must be prepared to work for extended periods from Essen, Germany
