Our client is currently looking for a IT Systems Administrator (m/f) for a project in Dortmund.Project Description:
- Administer and manage an Active Directory Windows environment
- Manage LAN /WAN environment consisting of HP Procurve, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks, and Barracuda architecture. Including internet security systems and end point virus protection systems
- Proficient in various hypervisor virtualized environments, namely Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware architecture
- Provide occasional administration of Microsoft Exchange 2010 environment
- Consults with management and users to discuss system capacity, equipment acquisitions and security requirements
- Recommend new designs and implement new systems on the network by conducting research new products and how to properly implement them. Results are measured by the effectiveness and efficiency of the product and the installation.
- Troubleshoot systems when experiencing issues by identifying what the problem is and finding a resolution. Results are measured by not only resolving the issue, but also preventing it from occurring in the future
- Log all changes made to the network and infrastructure utilizing existing tracking systems. Results are measured by the creation of an auditable log referencing all system changes.
- Provide Help Desk support as needed
Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server 2003 and above, Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
- Experienced in server and desktop virtualization strategies (VDI, VMware, Hyper-V, Xen)
- Experience in configuring and running Microsoft DHCP and DNS services
- Experience in the suite of Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) applications
- Experience configuring and administering firewall systems, SSL VPNs
- Experience configuring and administering Internet Filtering and Intrusion Protection Systems
- Working knowledge and understanding of storage technologies (NAS, SAN, iSCSI)
- Working knowledge of telecommunications, namely Shoretel or Cisco VoIP systems
Required languages: good written and spoken English
