for an Oracle / Storage Performance Manager

Tasks

- Actively manage DB/Storage performance and throughput of strategic infrastructure platforms, such as DHP (Database Hosting Platform), CS Linux Platform, SAN & NAS, etc.
- Define methodology and basic approach, select required tools and technologies
- Intensively collaborate with peer groups and experts in Application Development, Pro-ductions Support, Platform Integration and Engineering.
- Provide information and support to Operations, Application Development and Plat-form Integration - lead remediation actions in case of performance degradation or per-formance related system failure within the DB, storage (SAN/NAS) and backup environ-ment
- Intensively collaborate and leverage existing Capacity Management function
- Support resource based application infrastructure profiling to determine current resource needs in addition to forecast growth. Optimise resource usage and performance by developing capacity management processes.


Requirements

- Oracle 10g/11g (>10 years), including knowledge of the following:
- RAC/ASM
- Dataguard
- RMAN
- Grid Control
- Database Tuning / Optimization

- Unix/Linux (>10 years), including knowledge of the following:
- Veritas VM / CM
- VMWare ESX

- SAN / NAS Storage Architectures, including knowledge of the following:
- HDS / EMC
- Dynamic Tiering, Thin Provisioning
- NFS Netapp

- Application / Tool / Procedure development using:
- PL/SQL
- Java
- Perl
- Shell

- Fluent written and spoken English and German
