for a Senior Business Analyst in Global Investment Environment
Project environment
Support a global Investment Decision support tool (Creation of Investment Proposals for the internal WM franchise) at a global Swiss bank. The application provides portfolio management information to client advisors, allows them to work out suitable proposals for their clients. The tool consumes Client Information, Position Data and Financial Instruments data from various backend system & created investment proposal for end clients. It is rolled out to clients advisors in CH as well as in numerous other locations in Europe & Asia and has more than a million active portfolios.
Tasks
As a Business Analyst in this space, you will work in a small & dynamic team (8-10 people) that is mostly based in Basle and is composed of IT, support and business. You will contribute to the design and documentation of upcoming business requirements in that space, covering front ends user interfaces but also the server side of the application and data base. Your work will also include the creation of test concepts and executing / overseeing parts of the tests prior to roll outs (UAT). A profound understanding of Investment business (Wealth Management - Asset Allocation, Portfolio based) and technical consideration is desired. Requirements Engineering as well as System Design task are at hand. The build-out of the system documentation strengthening of the systematic traceability from business request to module function is a key part of the work. The application is based on batch interface to Client, Position & Financial instrument data. The front end code is in Delphi. The team is collaboration on highly interactive/scrum-like based methodology. Teamwork, Investment Content know-how & cross-discipline collaboration is essential.
Requirements
• 5+years of experience as Business Analyst / Front Office or Middle office.
• Proven experience in global systems.
• Experience with front-end processing/functionality (e.g. Channels, Advisory processes, Asset Allocation, Investment Suitability, Portfolio management).
• Independent, systematic and structured approach and way of working (e.g. Use Cases, Activity Diagrams, UML); strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Initiative acting & dedicated commitment as well as excellent organizational skills & keen perception; high awareness of quality and deadlines.
Technical skills
Content-Knowledge of products, instruments, OTC and securitised is key, but also knowledge of risk returns, various financial risks & portfolio management techniques is at the core of the current work.
Soft skills
Very good command of German and English & good communications & interpersonal skill required.
