Our client is currently looking for a Web Operations Engineer (m/f).Tasks:
There has been quite a bit of turnover and organizational confusion around Annunci. As a result, there is not anyone in the SiteOps team that currently has a strong and holistic understanding of how the platform works and what the underlying problems are. We are looking for someone (m/f) who has had experience coming into situations where a platform is slightly under support and not completely understood and bringing it back to a state of harmonious order. Any stories you can tell us about how you have done this in the past, particularly when a LAMP stack is involved, would be very nice to hear. The situation is both technically and socially complex. You will need very strong abilities in technical analysis, planning and communication to succeed at this job.
Skills:
You should have strong experience working with the following technologies, which are in use in Italy and be able to tell stories to demonstrate your experience with them.
Note: This list is sorted in order of priority.
-Puppet (go look what is there and bring it forward)
-Linux and Bash Scripting (for deployment and other stuff)
-Project Management
o Keeping a list of tasks
o Dealing with shifting priorities
o Getting things done
-Experience working on LAMP based websites.
-Java/Tomcat
o Especially moving from a PHP based site to one running Java.
Duration: asap for 6 months
