CLOUD ARCHITECT

GENERAL SUMMARY

Experienced Architect is responsible for planning and design a cloud environment, based on EMC
solution like Vblock. Responsible for pursuits of complexity in Product / Infrastructure Cloud space.
Provides technical lead during the delivery phase and is able to describe required tasks for
implementation.
Is working closely with Cloud Service Manager to design the technical requirements on base of the
business reasons.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Infrastructure (Vblock): develop and establish converged Infrastructure Solutions based on
VCE Vblock - compute / storage / network

- Is aware of Systems Management Integration Alerting and Monitoring of Vblock in / with
products
- Basic knowledge of security / network security / role- and authorization schemes
- Operational concepts of Backup & Recovery / Support in space of a cloud

Virtualization (VMware): develop and establish virtualization and migration Concepts based on
VMware vSphere (P2V, V2V)

- vSphere / vCenter
- HW - Management AMP
- Basic knowledge of security / network security / role- and authorization schemes
- Operational concepts of Backup & Recovery for virtualization environment

VMware vCloud Suite: develop and establish Cloud Solution based on VMware vCloud Suite
(technical view, Infrastructure)
- vCloud Managemet Suite product knowledge, functionality, datacenter automation, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Desktop
Virtualization, knowledge of Security / network security / role- and authorization schemes

Cloud Service Management: develop and establish new Cloud Service offerings for End-
Customer (technical view)
- develop new Service offerings
- Integrate in Self Service Portal
- automate provisioning process
- ITIL Foundation skills, Service orientation

Data center automation: manage agility of Cloud Solution within customer organization
(technical view)
- automate integration of new VMs in Monitoring Solution
- automate integration of new VMs in Backup Solution
- automate integration of new VMs in CMDB, Reporting and Management Solution

Cloud operational scenarios
- VMware
- Non VMware like amazon, Microsoft, open stack
Tools:
- Microsoft Visio
- Mind Manager

BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE

- Deep method and architectural skills e.g. Scrum, TOGAF, GSM, Metaplan
- Experiences as responsible IT architect in large enterprise customer projects
- Large technical and service solution oriented culture.
- Deep VMware knowledge
- ITIL Foundation V3 certified
- EMC Cloud Architect Specialist or Expert level
- Network knowledge preferable CCNA certified
