Job description:
IT Service Continuity (SC) Specialist manages the project which develops and designs the Disaster Recovery Planning and IT Service Continuity Management processes within the Focus IS program for a new data centre to ensure alignment and integration with other business processes, primarily with the Business Continuity Management and Incident Management processes.
The IT SC Project Manager ensures that the SC project delivers the necessary elements of the framework in alignment with other parts of the Focus IS Data Centre programme, especially application move projects, to minimise the risks of rework in other projects if their DR plans do not align with the framework.
While the data centre has been architected with a combination of recovery and/or restoration strategies, the IT Service Continuity project will develop the supporting framework, crisis procedures, and the specific plan to make efficient use of these strategies.
Specialist subject matter experts will be appointed to deliver the content of the framework but the SC Project Manager must be familiar enough with the content to understand and drive delivery against plans and coordinate with other projects.
Key responsibilities:
Manage the project to create the IT Disaster Recovery Management framework, the Crisis Manual and the specific Disaster Recovery Plan for the core infrastructure of the data centre to address IT Service Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery Planning requirements.
