For our client in telecommunication we are currently looking for a technical project manager (either Unix and Oracle experience or Windows and SQL experience) for location Dusseldorf, Germany.

Project description:
We are looking for a technical project manager who supports an existing team. The project is about implementing a money transfer service in different countries worldwide. Therefore the respective project manager doesn´t need to work really hands-on, but should have good network (WAN & LAN), IT and telecommunication knowledge (Comm Matrix creation, troubleshooting, technical co-ordination) to control the whole project and the different service providers.
Tasks:
- Coordination of activities on the different technical layers like connectivity, hardware, OS/DB and applications
- recognise set-up dependencies
- support trouble-shooting
- arbitrate between providers for issue handling
- reporting
- managing of operational issues to ensure operational readiness and transition to live
Project Goals:
- technical advice to resolve immediate issues or implement improvements
- technical deployment and service transition has to be successfully managed with given resources and budget
- handover to operations teams successfully done meeting the agreed handover criteria
- delivering projects within agreed time, budget and quality
- compliancy to architectural standards and internal and external guidelines
Required skills:
- telecommunication experience
- Project Management skills (ITIL v3 Foundation, Prince2 Foundation)
- Expert knowledge with operating systems (Windows and/or Unix)
- Expert knowledge with relational databases (Oracle and/or SQL)
- Very good network and security knowledge (ISDN, Telnet, TCP, security regulations etc)
- broad application knowledge (Citrix, MS Project, Veritas, Microsoft Exchange, Ghost, VMWare)
- Existing certification/trainings: DBA, VMWare 4.0 ESX, MCSE
