Job Description:
To support the international Terminal Integration & Validation team in over 10 countries with Terminal Certification tasks to ensure that terminals are fit for market launch.
Performing interoperability testing and troubleshooting of new terminals with Client specific infrastructures, SIM cards and network services in areas of GSM, GPRS, UMTS, HSPA, LTE and local MT services. To ensure that all devices conform to the DT Technical Requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Technical expert
Validates software releases for new terminals prior to market launch, specifically covering the interoperability with test network configurations, SIM cards and network services. This scope covers: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA, LTE (incl. CSFB) and interworking between these technologies.
Executes functional and detailed protocol procedures and scenarios in lab and live network environments.
Verifies communication protocols (mainly Layer 3) between the terminals and the network by use of trace tools on UE or network side.
Detects and analyses device misbehaviour against existing generic standards (eg 3GPP) and DT specific requirements and evaluates the root cause of the issues.
Documents validation results and defects with tools like MS Excel and a web based database. Especially creates detailed technical descriptions (English language) of defects for internal project managers and vendor developers.
Gives technical opinion on the defect severity, along with customer impact statements. Intermediate levels of problem solving skills and technical competency are required
Supports international technical vendors experts during joint retests and defect analysis in the DT labs.
Education and Work Experience
At least 4years experience working within Mobile Communications Industry with expert knowledge on GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA and LTE air interfaces.
Degree in Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications.
Ideally with experience working in an international organisation
