Network Engineers required - Local and central teams
Project description - Network engineers to refresh site - LAN and WLAN
To perform local activities in conjunction with remote network engineering team
1) Install & build locally the new LAN infrastructure according to Site Specific Design
2) Test according to Test Strategy and Plan
- Creating test scripts from agreed test cases
- Running network tests from agreed test scripts
- Documenting test results
- Raising defects
- Performing root cause analysis
3) Migrate users according to migration plan
- Raising Remedy request
- Switch over
4) Operational acceptance according to agreed acceptance criteria
- Integration of build to Client toolsets
- Delivering to acceptance criteria
5) Identifying technical risks
6) Supporting effort estimation for project change controls
7) Own and manage risks and issues as required.
Required skills:
Must be an experienced Network Engineer with a detailed understanding of LAN and WLAN technologies, and implementing and testing networks within a large Global network.
Experience with large segmented LAN environments and restricted access.
Experience with FW rule- and Internet access setups.
Experience in building new networks or enhancing existing ones according to an architectural design.
Experience in guiding local site engineers from remote during build, setup, configuration and testing of new installations.
Experienced in troubleshooting and resolving any errors in case or occurrence during network implementation and go live.
Experience of Juniper Switches, Routers and Firewall device, Cisco WLAN, OSPF Routing, Radius, and 802.1X, including Guest access within a large Global network (3 regions and several hundred sites).
Juniper networking experience (JunOS) - Switches, Routers, Firewalls, essential
Juniper or Cisco certification eg JNCIA or Cisco CCNA certification or better
Experience of Juniper NAC or 802.1X implementation desirable
Familiar with complex network setups and experienced in working to build a network infrastructure in parallel to a productive network
Experience in setting up wireless networks with Cisco Access Points

LAN Refresh
- To create detailed physical/site specific designs for the site infrastructure based on the Building Block designs
- To procure and build site infrastructure
- To build and deploy Active Directory and workplace changes to enable Network Access Control and Guest Access building blocks
- To transform the sites in scope, through the deployment of new operational processes, implementation and integration of detailed designs
- To perform operational handover to Client support teams, and confirm acceptance for the support and management of the new transformed LAN service
To migrate the sites in scope to the new transformed LAN service
