The focus is on Juniper networks and LAN/WAN architecture - and less on communication requirements below. But it would be good for the networkers to have an understanding and basic know-how on what is important for Real Time communication systems like HDVC. Cisco experience is also beneficial.
A leading Law Firm is seeking a Infrastructure Engineer to operate the network and telecommunications technologies on a daily basis.
Snaphot of responsibilities:
* Carries out agreed operational procedures. Contributes to the implementation of maintenance and installation work. Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution.
* Investigates problems in systems and services. Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.
* Develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change. Applies change control procedures.
* Receives and handles requests for support following agreed procedures. Responds to requests for support by providing information to enable incident resolution and promptly allocates unresolved calls as appropriate.
* Contributes to the availability management process. Analyses service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability. Ensures that services and components meet and continue to meet all of their agreed performance targets and service levels. Implements arrangements for disaster recovery and documents recovery procedures. Conducts testing of recovery procedures.
Essential Technical Skills
*Knowledge of TCP/IP and associated protocols.
*Knowledge of network devices and associated protocols. Specifically Juniper.
*Knowledge of layer 2 network protocols, specifically routing protocols.
*Knowledge of telecommunications systems and protocols including unified communications technologies.
Also advantageous - Experience of administrating NetScaler. PBX & VOIP.
Desirable Qualifications
*ITIL Service Management Foundation certification (or equivalent).
*MCSA, MCSE, MCP.
*CISSP, Other relevant network or telecommunication technical qualifications.
