Our client is a global organisation in the telecommunication industry. We are looking for a motivated IOT Technical Consultant (m/f) on freelance basis. You get the chance to use your skills in an international environment and to take advantage of many opportunities that arise from it.Tasks/core responsibilities:
• Implementation and operation of the RCS IOT framework
• Working with the RCS IOT team to define and implement the test harness
• Management of the RCS test cases catalogue
• Development of test plans
• Managing the client accreditation process
• Liaising with other RCS groups and industry associations such as OMA and GCF
• Advising RCS project members on test matters
• Collation and publication of test results
• Support the IOT group leader through preparing status reports, minutes taking and action points management
• Liaising with industry stakeholders such as terminal OEMs and software developers as regards testing matters
• Work closely with the RCS Technical Specification Group (TSG) to:
o Keep a record of all the changes introduced to the IOT test cases specification matching the changes in the RCS specifications where applicable, as they both evolve.
o Provide a first line technical assessment of impact in test specs for changes introduced in the RCS specification
o Advise TSG on any changes required arising out of testing
Criteria for Selection:
• Ideally 5+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry in a similar technical consultant role. Additionally the candidate will have a background in elaboration of test specifications for industry standards, ideally related to RCS, IMS and LTE.
• Network to terminal architectural understanding with strong background in at least IMS and ideally RCS, covering:
o knowledge of the differences between IMS releases and RCS versions (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5)
o deep understanding of SIP protocol and, ideally, MSRP and RTP
o basic understanding of other IMS based services (including IMS voice control – MMTel) and technologies (e.g. LTE)
• Experience in industry standard specifications and ability to understand and contribute technically to the development of the specification and the associated test cases
• Experience of facilitating and supporting a technical specification development team
• Excellent communication and good technical writing skills (English) in the wireless technology area
• Exposure to project management will be considered a plus.
Languages: Excellent English and German language skills
Location: Düsseldorf & London, occasional travel between both locations will be required
