Our client provides clinical software solutions for the global Ultrasound Market. An important component of theirs is an application which creates reports based on an entered diagnosis. Basically the physician can enter medical diagnoses and further information and based on that a report is being generated.
This report is available in several formats, HTML being the master one and PDF/TXT versions can be generated in addition. The text version is a particular challenge as ascii/unicode does not provide structural elements like tables, headings, etc. which are available in HTML and PDF.
Your Tasks:
To evaluate the current text-export algorithm based on existing sample cases which partially do not produce optimal results. Based on that analysis the next gen export strategy shall be defined. Ideally it can reuse at least parts of the existing logic and add/rewrite functionality that needs to be improved. The main objective is a rewritten medical report exporter to text format which addresses current limitations and export issues.
You will rewrite HTML-to-text converter addressing known limitations and issues of current implementation, bearing in mind that reference cases are converted correctly.
Your qualifications and experience:
-Proficient in C++ software development
-Previous experience in developing converter tools
-Experience in working with MS-Windows environment
Candidates must speak fluent English. German will be considered as an advantage.
