Our international operating client is currently looking for a Specialist (m/f) Monitoring Operations for a long-term project close to Nuremberg, Germany.Environment / Project Description:
* Owner of the infrastructure monitoring service including Hardware and Software as well as setup,
configuration and operation of the environment.
* Setup and maintain notifications to the costumers.
* Administration of the monitoring environment and its components
(SCOM 2012/HP-SIM/CMDB, Network Node Manager) according to the client's policies.
* Development of Monitoring scripts; development and enhancement the client's Group CMDB.
* Liaise with the system owners and application teams to coordinate and fine-tune the configuration of the Monitoring platform and process.
* Coordinate monitoring tasks and functions with the Monitoring Operators in the regions and work
closely with the Service Management on monitoring related issues.
* 3rd Level Support for Monitoring notification in regards to OS and applications.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the availability of the group monitoring service and perform monitoring for Global IT related services.
* Provide and setup automatic alerts to system owners/application owners as requested.
* Reporting and analysis (i.e. availability of services)
* Develop and enhance the enterprise monitoring strategy as well as develop and maintain the client's Group CMDB
* Coordinate and fine-tune the monitoring process, as well as keep and develop the client's Group
Monitoring environment up to date to meet also future requirements.
* Implement common monitoring services for the main functions:
- Hardware components like SAN, Servers, WAN/LAN
- Operating systems like Windows 20XX, Linux, Unix
- Application/Services like Databases, Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL
- Applications, Websites, Microsoft products
* Execute ongoing monitoring tasks; real-time and historical performance monitoring
* Notification and automation of monitoring events; provide input towards incident and problem management
Qualifications:
* Experience in IT monitoring platforms, operations, strategy and configuration
* Hands-on experience in Windows 20XX and Linux/Unix based services and server administration.
* Enhanced skills in .net; VB; VBS; XML; Powershell; c#; Unix shell scripting; Networking
* Enhanced skills of SCOM ; HP-SIM, etc.
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken; fluency in German advantageous
