This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is for a Programmes Planner/Scheduler who will be integrated into the Project Management Office or PMO for the client's Geostationary Satellite Programme Division.
Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations.
The general task of the consultant will be to assist the PMO Team in the implementation and maintenance of the GEO Programmes schedules and related scheduling and reporting processes. He/she shall have at least 5 years proven hands-on experience in project planning, scheduling, monitoring and control. Demonstrated experience in large systems developments, Space and/or Ground Segments will be considered an asset.
The key experience and attributes sought are:-
- Extensive hands-on experience in schedule preparation, monitoring and control, for complex/large system programmes, preferably space systems, as well as in planning and monitoring the allocated resources
- Extensive experience in using Microsoft Project or a similar project management tool suite (eg Primavera)
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience with project management (eg, ECSS) and project scheduling concepts and techniques
- Ability to draft concise management reports and executive level presentations in English
- Extensive hands-on experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite and in particular with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Candidates should possess a University degree or equivalent. Fluency in English is essential. This is a freelance contract assignment with an initial period of 2 years starting in June/July 2013 with an option to extend for a further period of one year.
