For our customer, an inter-governmental organisation located in Darmstadt/Germany we are looking for a Network Engineer.
TASKS
- Operate and Maintain the Technical rooms
- Maintain network cable infrastructure (fibre and copper)
- Provide physical network
- Operate and Maintain the KVM system
- Monitor the Internet access service
- Operate and Maintain the active components of the network infrastructure:
- Operate and Maintain Wireless LAN Infrastructure (hot spots and portal software)
- Liaise with external parties for the operation/maintenance of the Security System
- Provide user support for service requests and incidents to the Network system
- Contribute to the procurement of information technology services,
PROFILE:
The consultant shall have preferably a University degree in comparable discipline together with proven experience as IT Infrastructure and Network Engineer. The consultant is required to have as a minimum:
- Experience in operation and maintenance of Technical rooms.
- Knowledge of powerdistribution systems and cooling systems.
- Hand on experience in operating a Network cabling infrastructure (configuration control, patching, media type etc).
- Working knowledge of and experience in the installation, operation and maintenance of KVM systems.
- Working knowledge of and experience in power distribution and UPS solutions
- Knowledge/experience in operation and maintenance of a network infrastructure based on Cisco components.
- Hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of Wireless LAN Infrastructure
- Hands on experience in the operation of network monitoribng tools
In addition, the following aspects shall be considered an advantage:
- Hands on experience in using Cisco Works
- Experience in a structured, ISO 9000 certified project and service environment
- Knowledge of ITIL and hands on experience in change and configuration management.
The variety of the tasks requires a high degree of autonomy and the close interaction with users of the IT environment requires good communication skills and a customer-oriented approach with some experience co-ordinating IT related projects. The official languages of the client is English, French language skills are an advantage.
Candidates must have a passport of an EU member state or a valid work permit for Germany
