MS Lync 2013 System Architect

Background:
The client is rolling out Lync Server 2013 and Lync client 2010 to all of its approx. 7000 users. A global HA and DR design has been made. This design has to be finalised, developed, tested and implemented. The implementation will run in an Account/Resource Forest topology based on a windows 2008 R2 environment.

Deliverable Service:
The services to be provided consist of assisting the team in the design, testing and implementation of the Lync 2013 infrastructure. Once users go live some support, problem solving and maintenance tasks will have to be provided as well.

Responsibilities and Key Duties:
-Help with the installation, configuration and administration of the Lync 2013 systems infrastructure
-Help to establish and maintain best practice standards for the configuration of a High Available and Redundant Lync 2013 Server environment in combination with Lync 2010 Clients and Users.
o Set up, describe and test HA and DR scenarios
o Customise presence settings
o Boss secretary function
o Automating User configuration
-Help to set up proper monitoring, including availability, quality and health of the Lync 2013 environment.

Technical Skills:
-In depth knowledge of Lync 2013 Server and Lync 2010 Client, especially in the following areas:
o HA and DR implementation and testing
o Monitoring call quality and availability
o Setting up Lync in a Resource Forest
o Securing the Lync environment
-In depth Lync Powershell knowledge and experience, including Scripting
-In depth knowledge of and experience with the customisation options of Lync
o Modifying Presence settings (disable displayed times etc)
o Modifying Recording options
-Knowledge of integration of Lync and Exchange 2010 and Sharepoint 2010

Professional Skills:
-Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. All documentation has to be written in English.
-Knowledge of German is beneficial.
-Willing to cooperate and share knowledge in a small team
-Strong personality with a good working attitude, willing to help wherever possible.
-Good in discussing architectural decisions, explaining the viewpoints and options available.

Additional Job Requirements:
This position is a daytime position but might require flexibility to perform system maintenance during evenings and weekends.
