Commissioning and Configuration Technician required to evaluate and carry out planned events in line with project run rates and customer's expectations. This includes 2G/3G new site deployment, Software and Transmission Expansions, decommissions, Hardware changes, this allows us to deliver capacity and performance improvements.
Key aspects of the role
The ability to plan/commission/integrate 2G/3G new site build and Transmission/connectivity requirements utilising the Planning tools, (Cramer), transmission requirements include IP/ATM/ATP.
The preferred candidate is required to have experience utilising the Cramer planning tool to perform the following critical activities.
- 2G New site Deployment
- 3G New site Deployment
- IP Transmission
- ATP Transmission
- ATM Transmission
- Decommissioning sites
- Moving Leases
- Adding 2nd Carrier to Existing sites
- Adding 3rd Carrier to Existing sites
- Adding U900 to existing Sites
- Upgrading TX to sites
Experience in the following is also highly desired:
- Evenflow
- Proteus
- OSSRC WRAN/GRAN
- Record
- Cramer
- DNS
- OMS
- CBGX
Responsibilities:
- The preferred candidate engineer must have an excellent understanding of site configurations for all technologies and a good working knowledge of the telecommunications infrastructure including the RAN and Core network.
- The experience to implement configuration changes onto the 2G/3G RAN in line with defined processes utilising the OSSRC interface.
- The experience to Program all transmission network elements to meet transmission requirements. The Network elements include the CBX, OMS and Tellabs equipment.
- The experience to Liaise with Field Engineers to ensure network requirements are delivered and tested. Provide fault diagnosis and troubleshooting if required to rectify any issues in order to complete the required activity.
- The preferred candidate will have the ability to Implement both 2G & 3G Data Transcripts to configure Cell Level changes to 2G/3G Upgrades.
Professional Competency
- Experience in the RAN Network and HNC in Telecommunications - Essential
- Experience on the Cramer planning tool, transmission provisioning tools (OMS/CBGX/Tellabs) - Essential
Technical Competencies (Essential)
- Planned Network rollout/Expansion, Unplanned, Fault rectification and Quality of Service.
- Experience of using remote access software to complete, commissioning, integration and maintenance activity on the Ericsson RBS 2G product family.
- Experience of using remote access software to complete commissioning, integration and maintenance activity on the Ericsson RBS 3G product family
- Experience utilizing the Cramer Planning Tool
