An Linux Administrator is required to work on ground station installations in the ground systems department for one of the world aerospace leaders, based in Oberpfaffenhofen, just outside of Munich, Germany. It is a six month contract initially but is likely to be extended after that.
The role requires a very strong background in Linux (administrator level) and experience of installing, configuring and tuning the Linux operating systems. The candidate must have significant experience of software installations on Linux and be comfortable debugging and updating installation scripts. Strong skills in virtualisation technologies (ieVmware) is also highly desirable.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: Strong Linux administration skills, understanding of networking, unix Scripting, configuration management tools (eg GIT, CRAM), knowledge of virtualisation using VMWare
Desirable: Perl, Tcltk, ldap, MySQL, understanding of Linux Security issues, detailed knowledge of Suse Linux Enterprise Server,
Previous Experience
Essential: Previous role as a Linux Systems administrator,
Desirable: Experience of porting applications between different versions of Linux, experience of configuring and installing VMWare

This placement is based in Germany, the fee paid is an all-in-rate for the supply into Oberpfaffenhofen. The rate can be paid in Euros if preferable.
The candidate must be engaged through internationally compliant solution.
Rate paid (in Sterling/Euros) is for supply into Germany. Expenses will be paid for business travel if required at other sites (eg Fucino, Portsmouth etc). Expenses will be paid in the same currency as the fee.
