Project background/responsibilities:
We are looking for a deployment manager who will support the technical part of different upcoming projects within an existing team.
It's a multi-tasking team that performs technical triage as well as project management.
The main focus of the function is on technology and coordinating activities on the different technical layers like connectivity, hardware, OS/DB and applications which are provided by different internal or external parties. Good understanding of these layers is required to recognise set-up dependencies, support troubleshooting and arbitrate between providers for issue handling.
Depending on the project, the role also includes overall project management including controlling and reporting as well as managing of operational issues during the project execution phase to ensure operational readiness and transition to live. Depending on the nature of the service the role also covers demand assessment activities for feasibility studies and consolidated cost estimations.
Activities include also:
- Set-up, integration, configuration, trouble management and maintenance of the system
- together with the appropriate product line and/or vendor.
- Implementation of the data architecture, network architecture and server architecture inside the agreed timelines.
- Writing reports to the project manager.
- Creating independently reports and project plans for the project leader
Project goals:
- technical advice to resolve immediate issues or implement improvements
- technical deployment and service transition has to be successfully managed with given resources and budget
- handover to operations teams successfully done meeting the agreed handover criteria
- delivering projects within agreed time, budget and quality
- improvement of strategies for existing processes and technical solutions
- compliancy to architectural standards and internal and external guideline
Required Skills:
- Experience in Project Management minimum 5 years
- Deep understanding of operational procedures and process standards (eg ITIL)
- Experience in the telecommunication industry
- Broad experience and knowledge of mobile Internet communication, protocols, infrastructure, applications, services and integrations
- Network infrastructure (basic knowledge of TCP/IP, FTP, Gateway, HTTP, HTTPS, LAN, WAN, LDAP, SAN, ssh, SSL, VPN), Network diagram (ingredients and definition)
- osi model
- Firewall and Load balancing
- Hardware Virtualisation
- Knowledge based on Server (server structure)
- Database: basic knowledge
- Knowledge with common operating system eg Linux Red Hat, Unix, Windows
- Broad Application knowledge (eg Citrix, VM Ware, SQL)
- Installation of Operating systems
- knowledge in cloud technology
- Microsoft (Windows, SQL Server, Active Directory)
- Standard Office Products
- Experience with ticket systems (like Remedy ARS)
- Troubleshooting processes
- Strong IT/Application Management background
