IT Technician - SCHORNDORF, Germany - Contract - Rate Flexible
A leading Drug Development pharmaceutical client in Germany has a new role for a IT Technician, Field Services will be responsible for ensuring that client related technical issues are resolved in a quick and proper manner
This individual will have a strong IT background and may be required to guide or supervise other IT staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
* Understands advanced user technology issues and provides solutions based upon basic proven methods.
* Researches, evaluates, and provides technical solutions to address defined business requirements.
* Identifies alternatives and present recommendations that meet user needs and comply with established standards
* Interacts with clients to process service requests or resolve technical problems.
* Replaces and rebuilds hardware components as needed.
* Installs/removes/configures software applications.
* Ensures call tickets are updated and closed in a timely manner.
* Procurement in accordance with corporate guidlines
* Compliance with purchasing licensing guidelines
* Coordinate local support vendor relationships
* Ensures compliance with system patching & AV requirements
* Advanced site application support administration & troubleshooting
* Advanced network, telecomm & server support
* Suggest improvements in service and policy through appropriate channels
* Understands and complies with relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
* On call 24x7 for emergencies and special projects in accordance with standby policy
* Effectively communicates clear, concise and accurate status as required
* Provide updates of specific site requirements
* Mentor, encourage and provide training for Field service technicians
* Act as site point of contact and provide cover for Team Leader.
* Supervises the day to day activities of assigned technical support field personnel
* Other duties as may be assigned or required
Qualifications
Skill required
Education:
- Associates degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant direct technical support experience.
- Work experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or laboratory environment is preferred but not required.
* Solid understanding of personal computing applications (MS Office, Visio, Outlook, etc.)
* Good working knowledge of business applications, networks and server infrastructure
* Responds directly to clients regarding routine requests in a timely manner
* Assists colleagues in providing counsel to others on complex issues; aids in the development of strategies for achieving client goals
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with strong attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
* Basic understanding of computer systems validation is desired.
THE CLIENT IS WILLING TO BE FLEXIBLE ON THE SKILLS!
* Ability to speak English preferred.
* Must be able to work non-standard hours (weekends, evenings, nights) as needed
* Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-50 pounds
