Job Summary:
Our client, a world-leading systems integrator has a challenging and exciting opportunity to become an architect in their Cloud Solutions Engineering team. As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for the design of systems architectures in support of cloud workloads. Your primary focus will be to design our client's next generation ITaaS solutions, showcasing technical leadership in cloud infrastructures. To do this you must have a thorough understanding of the storage industry, and the technical skills to design and develop successful solutions. Additionally, you will ensure overall quality of the solution architecture and implementation process. You will also mentor other team members and be a focal point for technical expertise. You will operate independently with only high-level direction.
Job Requirements:
Design cloud solutions based on customer, PS, sales and marketing requirements.
Perform a technical feasibility study of solution requirements and features.
Develop technical solutions within the context of ITILv3/ITSM.
Automate storage management functions through Scripting and integration with orchestration software
Model and test solutions.
Document your work by writing whitepapers, implementation guides, reference architectures and other technical collateral.
Be able to focus and work on multiple projects in parallel.
Provide guidance to cross-functional teams for the entire solution life cycle.
Develop and deliver training as needed to professional services and technical audiences.
Be a main contact for storage management SW integration expertise.
Act as liaison between engineering, marketing and global professional services organizations.
Participate as a technical lead within our cloud community.
Collaborate with global teams.
Experience and skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Storage administration, architecture and/or integration experience.
Proficiency in virtualized server environments such as VMware, Citrix Xen, NetApp and MS Hyper-V.
Experience with large NAS and/or SAN storage infrastructures.
Experience as a user, administrator or integrator for enterprise data center or storage management tools: (For example: Tivoli Provisioning Manager, BMC Atrium, BMC Blade Logic, HP Cloud Service Automation, HP Operations Orchestration Software [Opsware], Symantec Command Central, CA Storage Resource Manager, Symantec Storage Foundation, Ionix, Unified Infrastructure Manager, etc.).
OpenStack Cloud Operating System experience a plus.
Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: C#, C, C++, Visual Basic, Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, Active Perl, CGI, Regular Expressions HTML.
Experience with automation Scripting via APIs, SDKs.
Strong networking skills will be required to manage lab networks (Cisco experience preferred).
Past experience in a Service Provider Cloud in an operational or architecture role is preferred.
ITIlv3 Foundation Certification or higher is desirable.
Experience with NetApp OnCommand Suite: Operations Manager, Provisioning Manager or Protection Manager software (formerly DFM) a plus.
Consulting experience with UNIX/Windows a plus.
Experience with storage software products for backup, and replication from NetApp or other storage vendors a plus.
Background in professional services or enterprise storage architecture consulting a plus.
Other:
BS in a technical discipline, ideally in computer science or engineering, MS a plus
10+ years industry experience (5+ in storage or data center management/operations)
German language is highly advantageous.
