For our customer, an inter-governmental organization located in Darmstadt/Germany we are looking for a Graphic Designer in print production.
TASKS
- Provide graphic design and layout support for the production of brochures, information sheets using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator),
- Produce computer generated graphics and diagrams for slides and direct computer use, using packages such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ensure all new images are uploaded to the image management system (celum IMAGINE) on a regular basis and key worded accordingly.
- Supply internal and external users with electronic files of assorted imagery, design elements, graphics/illustrations and logos.
- In addition, the Graphic Design Consultant is required to provide special expertise and support whenever asked by the Technical Officer.
PROFILE
- The Graphic Design Consultant should have a recognised qualification in graphic design or a minimum of five years professional experience in a graphic design and print production environment.
- Experience of working in an international or scientific organisation is a distinct advantage.
- A high attention to detail and the capability to adhere to quality standards even when under pressure to keep a deadline is essential.
- Additionally, a strong knowledge and practical experience of the graphic design process for print is a distinct advantage.
- Experience in customer liaison is an advantage, and he/she should possess the necessary interpersonal skills to handle a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- As some of the design tasks are part of a larger project, he/she should also be a strong team player.
- The Graphic Design Consultant should be fluent in at least oral English to be able to converse in what is primarily an English speaking environment. A working knowledge of German would be an advantage.
- Particular experience of both Apple Macintosh and Windows PC-based operating systems, particularly in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software is required.
- Knowledge and experience in managing and working with an image management system, such as Celum IMAGINE, is also an advantage.
