For one of our clients we are currently looking for a Project Manager (m/f) Data Centre Core Infrastructure based in Berlin.
General Role description:
The Data Centre Core Infrastructure Project Manager (DC Core PM) will be responsible for the infrastructure setup in two new collocation data centre spaces being established for BT. The collocation provider will provide ready space in a cage, and be responsible for physical delivery and (in general) installation together with rack and cabling provision. The DC Core PM will be responsible for driving the final stages of infrastructure design and procurement for servers, network, storage, and any other required components , and then the delivery of these elements to provide a working environment to be used for migration of current systems from other DCs
Specific tasks:
Manage architecture team to deliver designs at required levels
Manage procurement team to establish vendor relationships and enable purchasing
Manage build team(s) to ensure delivery of infrastructure on time
Align with operational teams to ensure smooth transition of built environment into live use
Experiences & Detailed Requirements:
Strong track record of delivering infrastructure into data centres (min 5 years in management role)
Solid understanding of server, storage and networking technologies currently available. Able to engage in meaningful discussion with architects over capability vs cost vs project timeline
experience of working with and driving corporate procurement and budgeting processes
experience of build out of data centre environments from scratch
experience of working with collocation data centre providers
Experience in outsourcing and dealing with external suppliers
Experience with ITIL process model
Proven project management skills
Fluent English spoken and written
Able to structure & deliver complex work packages
Delivery focused
Very good communication skills
