Aufgabe:The (Senior) Manager for Capacity Planning is responsible for the dimensioning, capacity management and forecasting of the customer?s data center assets & Services globally.
The primary contributions are to ensure that the correct facilities, computing resource consumption and utilization forecasts are in place to provide the correct level of management to meet the customer?s business objectives, Service Level Agreements and commitments.
Develops policies for platform computing resource usage forecast trending and general support of the Organization?s growth strategies.
Plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models.
Responsible for enterprise planning, tracking, coordination and delivery of data center infrastructure (Server, network, SAN, computing, storage & core services) capacity in the customer?s global data
center portfolio.
Works closely with business and technology partners to align project and initiative demand with global portfolio capacity, and manages the allocation and tracking of that capacity to meet business objectives.
Key contributor to the on-going improvement of physical technology infrastructure management & delivery, including design, development of critical routines/metrics, and integration with core infrastructure partners (network, storage & compute).
Anforderung:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Requires experience with data centers, data center infrastructure (racks, low voltage cabling, power delivery, etc.), and strong familiarity with technology infrastructure such as cabling/patching, network switches & ports, SAN directors and ports, and other foundational services.
Minimum 3+ years experience designing and deploying fault tolerant computing infrastructures
Previous experience in hosted environments. Preferable in a XaaS environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
2+ yrs. of technology infrastructure engineering and/or deployment in a large enterprise
4+ yrs. of capacity management experience (processes & tools)
Extensive communication skills (written and verbal)
Optimal candidate would have experience with capacity management processes, tools and reporting.
