I am working with a top fabless semiconductor company that is a leading producer of chipsets for the connectivity, networking, telecoms and wireless industries. They have asked for a contingent worker with excellent firmware skills to join their engineering team based in Cologne.
You will be working in their IP engineering group developing very low level firmware code for some of their current designs. You will gain experience working with a number of different chipsets during the contract.
Location: Cologne, Germany
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: €50-70 per hour (depending on suitability)
Skills of interest
My client is looking for an engineer with deep experience with some of the following:
- Expert knowledge of ARM Architecture (ARM7, ARM9 or Cortex)
- Knowledge of Assembly language
- Expertise with C and/or C++
- Good experience using version control systems (SVN, CVS etc.)
- Experience designing solutions for FPGAs (VHDL)
- System level design experience
- Previous handset or chipset experience for the wireless industry
- Knowledge of 3GPP protocols (3G, 4G, UMTS, HSDPA, LTE etc.)
- Knowledge of one or more of I2C, SPI, Ethernet, PCI or similar communications protocols
