The Senior Systems Analyst 
Document Management is responsible for owning and managing all technical aspects of the Documentum environment, including application development, maintenance, administration, and support. The role requires strong knowledge of EMC Documentum, Java and Web technologies, and subject-matter expertise in topics such as web applications, relational database design, and all stages of the software development life cycle. This role requires close interaction with the business owner and end users to understand and implement user requirements, as well as with other members within the IT organization to manage and support the application in compliance with architectural and process standards and guidelines. The right candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be comfortable interfacing with all levels of IT and the business; he or she must have strong organizational skills and be capable of planning, estimating and executing tasks to completion, as well as identifying, escalating and following-up on issues as required.

Working closely with and under the direction of the manager of Content Management Systems team to provide technical expertise and guidance in the area of Documentum and other content management systems. The role requires strong knowledge of EMC Documentum, Java and Web technologies, and subject-matter expertise in topics such as web applications, relational database design, and all stages of the software development life cycle. This position requires the ability to work independently and accept direction on assignments and tasks. Significant interaction with both the internal user/client population and IT associates will be required, and thus, a strong bias towards service, quality, and customer satisfaction must be demonstrated.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible the following:

  • Maintain the Documentum application and respond to requests in order to ensure that the solution remains effective and efficient in meeting the business needs.
  • Maintain day-to-day system support, development, database and server administration. This includes configuration and upgrade of applications, custom report/interface development, and communication with software vendor to resolve technical issues
  • Analyze root cause of problems and provide direction for workarounds, corrections, and enhancements.
  • Perform system administration tasks to ensure backups and scheduled jobs execute regularly.
  • Perform regular system performance monitoring, to understand utilization and ensure that the existing infrastructure is capable of supporting ongoing growth.
  • Communicate and consult with the business users and other IT resources in providing bug fixes and enhancements to the existing application.
  • Author validation documentation as required to conform to FDA compliance requirements. This includes Functional Requirements Specifications, Functional Design Specifications, Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, and Performance Qualification protocols.
  • Research and implement best practices; evaluate third-party tools and technologies to be leveraged for better application management and administration.
  • Proactively recommend and contribute towards the ongoing improvement of the Content Management applications.
  • Participate in other Java development efforts as needed, assisting with design, coding, testing, code reviews, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Effectively communicate clear, concise and accurate status as required.
  • Comply with Health, Safety & Environmental responsibilities for the position.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: 4-year degree in MIS/Computer Science or equivalent work experience preferred. This requirement can be met by a combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience: 5+ years experience in supporting Content Management Systems. Experience must include enterprise level, global implementations, dealing with FDA compliance requirements and involving coordination of resources from multi-disciplinary teams. The resource must have the ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required, as are interpersonal skills.

Knowledge/Skills: This resource must possess the following skills:

Expert knowledge in the functionality, administration, configuration and customization of the EMC Documentum Compliance Manager (DCM) product version 5.x. Expert knowledge in the configuration and administration of supporting DCM 5.x products and tools, including Documentum Administrator (DA), Documentum Content Rendition Services (CRS), and Liquent PDF Aqua and Print Queue Manager (PQM) services. Expert knowledge in the use of Documentum development frameworks and tools, including Web Development Kit (WDK), Documentum Foundation Classes (DFC), Business Objects Framework (BOF), Application Builder (DAB) and Application Installer (DAI).

Solid understanding of Documentum and DCM architecture, including the Java Method Server, the DCM Queue Manager, and the Full-text indexing engine. Experience installing DCM 5.x and all its supporting systems, including Documentum Server, Content Rendition Services and Print Control Services. Experience deploying Documentum hot fixes, patches, service packs, and upgrades. Solid understanding of basic Documentum concepts such as object types, ACLs, groups and roles, workflows, life cycles, alias sets, document classes, business rules, auto-numbering, watermarks, overlays, and templates. Strong knowledge and understanding of Java concepts and programming, including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), XML, XSLT, JSP, and AJAX.

Strong knowledge of BEA WebLogic Server 8.x, including administration and configuration of managed Servers, node managers, web applications, application deployments, and performance tuning and monitoring. Solid understanding of and experience with regulatory compliance requirements, including cGXPs, 21 CFR Part 11, e-signatures, and audit trail management. Experience working with the Eclipse IDE, Apache Tomcat 5.x, and Microsoft IIS. Experience configuring and administering CYA SmartRecovery for Documentum. Experience with Oracle databases, including creating tables, views, indexes, and functions, and writing complex SQL queries. Experience with Windows and Unix. Experience with Documentum 6.x and third-party imaging technologies a plus. Working knowledge of Active Directory domains and networking concepts. Proactive with the ability to function independently. Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
