We are seeking a Database Administrator (m/f) for one clients (labour leasing contact).Tasks: The System Engineer – Database Administration expert will join the Data and Network Section and there provide 2nd/3rd level engineering development, maintenance and support services for the existing Oracle Databases (V. 10g//11g). The System Engineer – Database Administration expert shall provide technical expertise in the following areas: Provide 3rd-level support for the operational databases activities including expert assistance in restoring normal service from incidents as quickly as possible and identifying any need forremedial or preventive maintenance throughout the use of diagnostic tools in co-operation with systems colleagues; perform systems engineering in the area of data bases, developing and setting standards, testing of new database version and features; investigate, diagnose and resolve incidents and problems; develop appropriate backups procedures for the databases; review and implement security policies to the databases; provide training to 1st and 2nd level support staff with new procedures and techniques; contribution to IT project in the preparation, implementation and deployment phase of IT services and systems; maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation related to database products; plan, prepare, test and implement maintenance activities; participate in the design and preparation of recovery and contingency exercises.
Requirements: Min. 8 years knowledge of current ORACLE versions including related products (e.g. RAC, DataGuard, OEM Grid Control and others) - 12%; Min. 12 years experience in system engineering, design and support, administering and maintaining mission-critical production databases including problem solving, performance tuning and capacity planning - 12%; Oracle Certified Professional certificate - 5%; Knowledge of at least one cutting edge technology in the field of databases (e.g. Exadata) - 6%; Knowledge of IT Service Management processes and best practice (such as ITIL), in particular in the areas of problem management, release management, capacity planning and service level management - 6%; Infrastructure project management (min. 3 years experience) - 6%; Sun Solaris, LINUX , current PC technology and client/server architecture knowledge (min. 5 years experience) - 7%; Business Objects, Web Logic and/or Tomcat knowledge - 5%; MS SQL Server knowledge - 6%; SQL, PL/SQL and shell scripting knowledge - 6%; Analytical skills and a problem-solving orientation - 9%; Interpersonal skills, self-motivation, the ability to work in a team and to communicate well, both orally and in writing- 9%; Ability to advocate technical choices in a clear and structured way with a clear assessment of advantages and drawbacks - 6%; Experience in building and delivering presentations to other teams and IT Management (5%);
