Function characteristics:
The software tester is responsible for integrating the software parts produced by the different programmers and testing the integrated software, both in the Software Integration Test and in the Software Acceptance Test and the System test.
Key areas of responsibility
* Link together the necessary software/system.
* Defines and executes tests, with the intention of finding defects as early in the life cycle as possible.
* Writing test reports for each of the tests executed. The result will be given to the project manager and the Software Architect.
* Responsible for the definition of a (regression) test environment.
* Acts in line with departmental and project processes.
Main experience required
* The Tester/Integrator should have at least a basic computer science education and should have followed additional training ton Test Engineering to acquire the necessary skills.
Necessary know how/skills
* Working in teams.
* Hardware knowledge, if appropriate.
* Configuration management.
* Reviewing and testing techniques.
* Methods and notations used in the Software Integration Test Specification and in the Acceptance Test Specification.
* Knowledge about the development and target environment used (eg Operating System, test tool).
Desirable knowlede in regulatory and medical environment.
Estimated level:
- Tests the software as a user in conformity with the defined methods in order to test the system in a structural way.
- Executes the tests.
- Reports the test results.
